God willing, today's my last day of puasa 6 (6-day fast in the month of Syawal). So, tomorrow can be considered my second Raya (Eid). :) Hopefully I can celebrate it with a Red Sox win. Amin.

I finally broke the duck

My mom is in town for this whole week. For one week, I don't have to worry about iftar (breaking of fast). :) So, 2 days ago I took advantage of it and went running/jogging/ lari geli-geliman ; just strike-off those that you feel don't apply. :) Since I started running, two Ramadhans had come and gone. And for those 2 months, I had stored away my running shoes and shoved running onto the sidelines. Thus, I wasn't sure how my body would react. I was okay with a meager 2 to 3 KM run. With slightly more than a kilometre in, the sky opened up. It was Godsend, I'm telling you. I was able to go farther than expected. By the time I reached home, I had logged 9km plus/minus on my Nike+. Yesterday, I gave running before iftar another test drive. SCKLM '10: "We told you so"

If I were given a chance to turn back the time to 4:55am on Sunday morning, I may have opted out of the race. But knowing that I eventually completed it, I wouldn't have it any other way. Shoes belonged to the runners in the family . It started drizzling as we left the house. It poured even heavier a few minutes before the start of the run. I was keeping it at a steady pace from the start, but I guess you couldn't stop the inevitable. Somewhere around the 10-11KM point, the nagging knee pain had surfaced. Aarggh! I was expecting it. I was ready for it. Kind of. Not this early, tho'. All I wanted was to complete the race. In a way, it was a much needed closure to the weeks and weeks of training. The thought of DNF played in my mind, but I was adamant to finish the run. At that point, I didn't care about the finisher's medal and t-shirt. I just wanted to finish. The sight of the 6:00...

m-blogging

I'm just testing out this Blogger-droid app on my HTC. So please be patient with me ok. ( Does anyone use a different one? ) Inserting pics... see whether they are placed correctly.
