Terengganu: Day 3

When Ayi informed me of his plan to take me to Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman districts all in one day, I was like aren't they far? To him they're all close by. Eek 😆. But since we were pressed for time, we had to skip Kemaman district. That's an excuse to come back again right?

  • In Hulu Terengganu, there's the Kenyir Dam and Kuala Berang, where the Batu Bersurat Terengganu was found. Tasik Kenyir itself is massive and
  • Meanwhile, Bukit Besi and Kuala Dungun are in the Dungun district.
Today's route (minus Kemaman) captured by google timeline

Nasi lemak-nasi minyak kawin :D

After we had breakfast, we made our way to Air Terjun Jenagor - not for the waterfall but to see the Kenyir Dam (from far). We even put up the hammock by the river for a quick photoshoot :D

We simply couldn't say no

Bukit Besi as the name suggests is the place for iron ore mining. They have the museum dedicated for the mining history, which became our next stop. There are some aspects of the museum that are interesting, like the miniature scales, the map that depicts the old mining town and the current Bukit Besi neighborhoods. IMO, what could make the museum visit even more interesting are motorized miniatrue scales or a viewing area at the top deck of the museum overlooking the old quarters. They do have a bus ride to visit on site monuments such as the swimming pool.

Say that again

Hahaha, takde kena ngena dengan lari2 pun

Tasik Puteri
The water is emerald green closer to the waterfall

After checking out Tasik Puteri, we left for Kuala Dungun. There we drove around the Kuala Dungun old town and then headed towards UiTM Dungun. Along the way we had a quick lunch at Singgang Ulam Budu. "Quick" because there weren't much food left at 2:30 :D. No more singgang and we had to fight for the last few chicken pieces and lala :D.

On the way back to KT, we made stops at Pantai Batu Pelanduk and Batu Penyu.

Pantai Batu Pelanduk

Ayi showed me the intro to Elly Mazlein's old drama that featured that rock. How in the world did they get up there?

Lagenda Batu Penyu
According to Ayi, there are other versions like in one, it is a male turtle.

Presenting.. Turtle Rock

The monument is in disarray

When we arrived back at KT, we wanted to get some late afternon snacks. We tried our luck again at Pulau Warisan. We bought keropok sira, laksam and nasi goreng ikan and we picked our spot by Pesisir Payang. Ayi was sooo disappointed with the all of them because they lacked the main ingredients - fish!

He immediately called his colleague and asked him if his shop is open and if there's still nasi minyak left. His colleague said yes to both questions. The nasi dagang and keropok were delish - Nasi Dagang Jalan Kenanga

After dinner, we wanted to go to the observatory deck at the drawbridge but it was already closed for the day. We'd need to come back the next morning.

The observation deck was closed so we just took pictures from beneath it :P

Timelapse

We even went to hung out at Miami Beach(don't say it to Ayi's face because he loathes that name given by the folks in the area) close to midnight, just because we could 😁..
Lah masing2 main hp :P
