Indonesia 2025 (iv): Garut

From Bobocabin Sukawana, we set our Waze for Cahaya Villa Hotel, Garut. Since Bandung is on the way, we made a quick stop at Bariton Bakery to get my hands on some bagelen and some coffee fix for the others.

It was pouring as we are nearing Garut. By the time we got to the hotel, it was drizzling and eventually stopped. We went for a swim at the pool. The water in Cipanas is sourced from the hot springs, hence the reason for the name Cipanas, which means 'air panas' in Sundanese. Of course, the pool water was warm as they also used cold water to bring the heat level a few notches down. We don't want any boiled eggs out there, if you get my driftπŸ˜„

When we were planning for the trip, several videos appeared in our social media feed on the eating places in Garut. One of them was on Garland Barnville. So that was where we went for dinner (or tried to). A plate of aglio olio spaghetti was priced at 48K IDR, but it was the small portion that we were disappointed of. We didn't even take pictures of our dinner because we were taken aback by it. And they only accepted cash or a transfer to their bank account. I couldn't use any of my physical cards.

Ok, we took pictures of the drinks πŸ˜†

There was no doubt that the place was nice. I bet the views are magnificent during the day. But we questioned the food price in relation to the portion size. Even parking costed us 10K πŸ™Ž

Still feeling hungry, we went to Citimall for dinner at Solaria. We also bought movie tickets for Final Destination 😺.

Nasi goreng petai at Solaria. Somebody still hadn't gotten their nasgor fix 😏

The next day we woke up for Subuh prayers, snapped pictures and went to breakfast at 6. Yes, you heard me right, 6 πŸ˜….  My friend was saying that the restaurant would be full by 7. And he was right. Well, sort of. The place was packed at 6:30 πŸ˜„.

We made a detour to Rumah Makan Kujang for lunch, before heading back to Bandung. The food was superb and the location and view were something else! Places like this would've gone "viral" in Malaysia in an instant.

We stopped for coffee and snacks at LS Plus by Lakipadada. It was also a chance for my two friends to meet up with their good buddy, Jerry. We were shown around by kang Jerry even to the recording studio.

Don't ask me what the names of the food were πŸ˜…

The recording studio. We were offered to sit in the chair but we didn't dare to πŸ˜…

After kang Jerry left, we stayed and moved to the rooftop level. Before leaving, we checked out the rest of the compound.
