From a 4-star Hotel Santika Premier Linggarjati-Kuningan, we headed for Bobocabin Madasari, a modern cabin that offers glamping experience. Although Googlemap shows that it was just 167km or so away, it translated to a 5-hour drive.
Kuningan to Madasari
Googlemap took us to a "shortcut" on a smaller road where our car stalled on this one steep incline. It was no joke. The dashboard was beeping "Transmission" and "Front camera failure" errors. On the third attempt, an officer in a uniform told the 3 of us to exit the car to lighten it up. A queue of motorbikes was already forming behind us. However, everyone was patiently waiting. We breathed a sigh of relief as R was able to drag the car to the top of the hill. When we asked one of guys for the road conditions ahead, he said everything's downhill from then onwards. The good kind of course!
My sister encountered carsick halfway into the journey because of the windy roads. It's been awhile since she was a passenger. I was getting light-headed too.
We stopped to stretch our legs and for a mart run at Banjar. As suggested by the boys, we bought few sachets of Tolak Angin. And boy, did it work. Alhamdulillahhh. And the stop was also a God-sent because when R asked for directions from the guys behind the counter, they told us to continue driving straight and ignore the one suggested by Googlemap. It had the same road condition as before. Phew!
We arrived at Bobocabin right after sunset. We were 3 for 3 for checking in after dark 😆.
Faces of relief after checking in 😀
We decided to just dine in at the cabins. Two servings of hotpot dinner and two eady-to-eat meals costed us Rp410k (RM95.75). But it was definitely the better option than venturing out in the dark to search for food after the long drive.
Main masak-masak
It was a great hangout session cooking for ourselves. We even played Uno that my sis bought at the mart after dinner before calling the night.
The next day, I managed to squeak in Subuh prayer before the break of dawn. Sun ups in Indo are way too early for me 😇. Then I went to the beach to snap a few photos and videos of the sunrise.
I regrouped with the rest of the guys for jalpag (jalan pagi) before they sent us our breakfast meals.
What we woke up to
Both of our cabins
This cabin has one of the best views albeit the farthest one
Breakfast - american breakfast. The other choices are nasi goreng, nasi goreng seafood and mie goreng.
Can't get tired of this view

not a beach for swimming but still a great one for the views

Greencanyon Body Rafting
When R and I were doing our research, R was recommending the body rafting at Pangandaran. 2 options came up - Citumang and Greencanyon. Citumang looks more intense, so we chose Greencanyon.
R found Baraja Body Rafting with great ratings and booked a 1pm slot with them. He said besides the perahu ride, "ada body rafting sikit hehe" (just a bit of body rafting). Verbatim. Word for word 😆
Bobocabin to Greencanyon
We chose the Standard package
But when they put the life vest and helmet on us, they meant business. R managed to get one for his size 🤭.
We had seats at the back of the pickup truck to get to the starting point.
True to its name, the green canyon was a marvel, with the echoes of "Abang Zarinnnnn!". Hahaha. My sister kept calling out my name whenever she was ahead down the stream but not too far of course. D was mimicking me after with "Jap jap jap" (Hold on) because that was what I said when I wanted to go after her but realized that we weren't going anywhere -- there wasn't any current where we were at LOL!
Our guides Kang Sen and Kang Tata always ensured our safety in the river and while traversing the rocks. Shout out to them!
My sister was a bit overwhelmed at first. She skipped the first jump at 2meters. After completing the course, she wished for a Back to the Future moment to rewind the clock and make the jump. Even till this moment. 😂
Back at the Baraja office, we were served with simple but delicious local kampung food. What a way to end the body rafting experience.
Okay, now let the pictures do the talking - we got tons because Kang Sen was our photographer too.
Before the jump
Happy faces. Nervy on the inside
The promised perahu (boat) ride
Batu Karas and Le Pari
It was only 4 when we checked in at our next hotel - Le Pari. What an achievement! 😁.
Green Canyon to Le Pari hotel
We decided to take advantage of the day time and went to have coffee at Kokyo, just a short walk away.
We strolled on the beach on the way back to hotel to enjoy the golden hour.
One of our rooms
That night we had dinner at Kedai Mini. Sounds so Malaysian right? But it kedai mini sounds more like a mart than a restaurant 😁.
R said these are J prices. J for Jakarta

The next morning we woke up early to catch the sunrise. Too bad it was slight overcast so the sun only came out of the clouds much later. Still it was a glorious morning.
Our rooms came with breakfast so we had it at the cafe.
No Na's Rollerblades lived rent-free in our heads throughout our trip, no thanks to R! 😄. While waiting for the Le Pari cafe to open at 8 for a better cup of coffee, we played around with the Samsung AI on my phone. Check out the outcomes! 😁
gamelan, gamelan, gamelan
Udah siap ke belum? Jalan-jalan dengan sepatu roda ku
The Le Pari cafe. We were the first customers in the morning
House of Sawah
We spent a couple of hours dipping in the pools. Plural because they had one right in front of our rooms and another one on the outside. They have a bigger one near the cafe, but that's way too public 😏.
We had lunch at House of Sawah, one of the restaurants that kept popping up in our feeds. It's interesting that they serve more western food. I would think they would serve local food.
